The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) ordered Goldman Sachs to pay $100 million, plus interest, to the National Australia Bank (NAB) for violating practices related to mortgage-linked securities. The NAB brought a $230 million arbitration claim in December 2012 related to a mortgage-related deal that presented a significant conflict of interest between Goldman Sachs and other clients. Goldman Sachs also paid $550 million to settle SEC allegations that it misled investors in the sale of collateralized-debt obligations (CDOs). If you invested money with Goldman Sachs, you may be able to recover these losses in the FINRA arbitration process.
