Stoltmann Law Offices is investigating Yuvraj Teneja, who entered into a Letter of Acceptance, Waiver and Consent (AWC) with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Teneja is accused of electronically submitting at least 53 fictitious applications for term life insurance policies on behalf of customers who did not exist. Taneja paid for the fake applications herself in order to win a contest sponsored by the insurance company. The alleged conduct occurred from June 2014 until November 2014 while she was registered with PFS Investments in Herndon, Virginia. For this, she was barred from the securities industry by FINRA.
In this case, as in many others, PFS Investments had a duty to reasonably supervise Ms. Taneja while she was a registered representative with them. Because they did not, they may be liable for investment losses.
